LovMes — A New Way to Share Love in the Digital Age

LovMes is a unique and artistic digital project that reimagines how we express affection online. Every part of LovMes is thoughtfully designed to highlight authentic gestures and foster genuine connection in the virtual world.

At the heart of LovMes lies its most innovative feature: a groundbreaking gesture-based CAPTCHA system. Before sharing a love message, users must first demonstrate their intention by performing the universally recognized "I love you" hand sign on camera. This gesture is captured and validated using a combination of ml5.js and p5.js, with server-side verification ensuring authenticity. Once approved, users receive a secure, time-sensitive token that unlocks their ability to post messages. This marks the world's first implementation of CAPTCHA in such an expressive and meaningful way.

Beyond verification, LovMes integrates various interactive elements to enhance the user experience. Messages receive visibility based on their community-driven "Net Love Score"—calculated by subtracting downvotes from loves—affecting the font size and prominence of each post. Meanwhile, playful features like the desktop Snake game and mobile word challenges make participation engaging and dynamic. A beautifully curated gallery showcases messages in a clean, masonry layout, turning expressions of love into a collective artwork.
